The August 16-23 intensive Opera masterclass for Conductors and Singers with
Maestro Martin Sieghart and Ingrid Habermann
will be held in North Bohemian Theatre
in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic.

Conductors are expected to purchase and study their scores before the start of the masterclass. It is important that you listen to the pieces and prepare them as much as possible to gain the maximum benefits from the course.
Each Active participant will be entitled to:

90 minutes podium time conducting the Orchestra and soloist
•
60 minutes of podium time in four hand piano sessions with the soloist
• we expect that all active participants
will conduct in the dress rehearsal and final concert as wel as attend all meetings and rehearsals.
Each Semi-active participant will be entitled to:
•
90 minutes of podium time in four hand piano sessions with Maestro and the soloist.
• attending all meetings, classes, rehearsals and the final concert as listeners
The application deadline: June 30, 2024. Conductors will be selected gradually until the deadline date.
There is no age limit for participation.
The Certificate of participation will be provided for all the participants who have completed this workshop.
Concert
The concert program will be divided among participants.
The final concert will be held on

Recording
All the sessions with the orchestra will be video taped with the camera in front of you, and each conductor will receive his/her videos via transfer link. Wish you grt your videos immediately, please, bring the memory card for copying.
Edited video from the concert will be ready in about one-two weeks after the workshop.
Language
The course will be taught in
English. Maestro Sieghart also speaks German, French, Italian, Dutch.

Martin Sieghart is one of the most versatile musicians of his country. He is a conductor of worldwide demand, a teacher of many successful international students, a founder and music director of several festivals, a former longstanding principal cellist of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, organist, repetiteur and has acted as an accompanist on the piano for his own Opera and Orchestral projects.

Payment schedule
- 25 % of the participant fee has to be paid as a deposit via bank transfer upon the organizers` confirmation of your participation;
- The payment deadline for the full participation fee is 30 days before the beginning of the course.
The masterclass fee is 100 % refundable only in case of cancellation or postponing of the masterclass by the organizer.

Travel and accommodation costs are not included in the masterclass fee, must be covered by each participant.
Ústí nad Labem is the town between Prague and Dresden. Travel from both destinations by a train or a bus will take you about one hour.
ORCHESTRA
The Orchestra of the North Bohemian Theater
performs in all productions that are in the theater's repertoire. The cast of 41 members interprets even the most demanding works of Czech and world opera, operetta and ballet literature. His regular concert activity is also significant. The orchestra's repertoire includes, among others, Smetana's My Homeland, Dvořák's New World Symphony and Slavic Dances, Tchaikovsky's Pathetic Symphony and Festive Overture 1812, Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 4, Mussorgsky's Pictures from an Exhibition and Franz Liszt's Les Préludes. Every year we also prepare a traditional Christmas concert for you, the obligatory part of which is always the Czech Christmas Mass by Jan Jakub Ryba, concerts of operetta melodies and new opera talents are also popular.
The NBOB orchestra invites top soloists to collaborate. He accompanied Ivan Ženáty in Dvořák's Violin Concerto in A minor, Igor Ardashev in Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto in B minor, and studied Janáček's Taras Bulba with the organist Aleš Bárta. Together with an opera choir and soloists, he performs vocal-instrumental works such as Dvořák's Stabat Mater and Mozart's, Verdi's and Dvořák's Requiem
