We are pleased to offer you 6-day masterclass with Maestro Alim Shakh (Principal conductor of St. Petersburg State Conservatory Opera and Ballet Theatre, Principal conductor of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra)
and of the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra (Czech Republic).
The masterclass will take place from 5th to 10th November 2016 in Marienbad (Czech Republic).
The participants will be conducting the classical European and Russian Romantic orchestral repertoire.
The course will include both orchestral rehearsals and individual conducting lessons and will culminate in the dress rehearsal and a final concert..
There is no age limit for participation.
You may opt for becoming an active or semi-active participant.
Each active participant will be entitled for:
- 100 minutes of podium time with the West Bohemian Symphony OrchestraEach semi-active participant will be entitled for:
- 90 minutes of podium time in sessions with piano accompaniment;W.A. Mozart. Overture to Abduction from the Seraglio, K384,

L. Beethoven. Symphony № 2, in D major, Op. 36,
S. Rachmaninoff. Piano Concerto № 2 in C minor, Op. 18,

Please select from this repertoire and prepare a program which you are interested in conducting (2-3 pieces).
Conductors are expected to purchase and study their scores before the start of the course. It is important that you listen to the chosen pieces and train to conduct them to the extent possible to gain the maximum benefits from the masterclass / course.
5th November - 12.00 - opening of the masterclass, four hand piano rehearsal sessions
6th November - four hand piano lessons sessions
evening - analyzing lessons’experience
7th - morning - orchestra rehearsal
afternoon - individual lessons with piano
8th - morning - orchestra rehearsal
afternoon - individual lessons with piano
9th - morning - orchestra rehearsal
evening - orchestra rehearsal
10th - morning - Dress rehearsal
19.30 - Final public concert
The working language oft the master class is English.
In addition, Maestro Alim Shakh speaks several other languages: German, Italian and Russian.
Accommodation costs are covered by the participants.
Rehearsals with the orchestra and the final concert will be video recorded.
Each conductor will receive his/her video on the USB flash card.The recording is included in the master class fee.
You can use also your own cameras.
