The masterclass will take place from 5th to 10th November 2016 in Marienbad (Czech Republic).
The participants will be conducting the classical European and Russian Romantic orchestral repertoire. The course will include both orchestral rehearsals and individual conducting lessons and will culminate in the dress rehearsal and a final concert..
Entitlements of Participants.
There is no age limit for participation.
You may opt for becoming an active or semi-active participant.
Each active participant will be entitled for:
- 100 minutes of podium time with the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra - 60 minutes of podium time in sessions with piano accompaniment;
- participation in all meetings, classes and rehearsals;
- Each active participant will conduct at the dress rehearsal and the final concert
Each semi-active participant will be entitled for:
- 90 minutes of podium time in sessions with piano accompaniment;
- participation in all meetings, classes, rehearsals and the right to attend the final concert, without conducting the orchestra.

Please select from this repertoire and prepare a program which you are interested in conducting (2-3 pieces).
Conductors are expected to purchase and study their scores before the start of the course. It is important that you listen to the chosen pieces and train to conduct them to the extent possible to gain the maximum benefits from the masterclass / course.

19.30 - Final public concert
Final public concert
The concert will be held on 10th November 2016 at 19.30 in the historical concert hall Casino.
All qualifying active participants will conduct at the final public concert and the concert program will be divided among the parti cipants.
The working language oft the master class is English.
In addition, Maestro Alim Shakh speaks several other languages: German, Italian and Russian.
Accommodation costs are covered by the participants.
Marienbad, a famous recreation spa resort, offers various types of accommodation. The organizers can help you to find a suitable accommodation upon request.
Do you prefer cheaper option? The Park Pension offers the accommodation with the price about 15 EUR per night (1 EUR = 27 CZK). The Pension Akropolis - 27 EUR per night with breakfast.

Rehearsals with the orchestra and the final concert will be video recorded.
Each conductor will receive his/her video on the USB flash card.
